Bur: ‘Charles Leigh Smith, son of Charles Webb Smith Esqr of Hills Cottage . . . salcombe Regis, died March 25th 1842, and was buried March 31st, in a New Vault in the Chapel yard, being 7 years 3 months & 1 week old, by me Joseph B. Bristowe, Minister. Cause of his death, Scarlet fever.’172
