Abstract of deed found in volume of Carslake handwritten notes: ‘29 March 1751 Conveyance of property at Beer from William Bampfield of Beer Esq to Edward Bampfield of Beer his son in consideration of a covenant by Edward “to provide sufficiet meat drink washing lodging wearing apparel & attendance for said William Bampfield & Agnes his wife and William Carslake son of Henry Carslake of Sidmouth”. The Deed mentions Bampfield Carslake & Joseph Carslake as sons of sd Henry Carslake. The properties conveyed are leaseholds for lives held under a Lease of 1 Octr 1696 from Edmund Walrond of Bovey & for a Lease of 26 March 1744 from William Walrond.’10,175
