In Walrond pedgree, Skinner calls Agnes’s father ‘John Drake of Ash’238 ‘It would be incorrect to call Agnes the daughter of John Drake of Ashe, although I have not got the date of the Chancery Proceedings that returned the Estate to the Drake family, it would have been her brother, John of Exmouth that claimed the estate – it is recorded that this was before he bought the Monastic lands at the dissolution.’350
