Fred White’s letter 9/9/1926 says of Alice Rossiter ‘I have some recollection that she ran away from England with one of Dr Lowe’s sons, this was the time they had the Sock factory in Water Lane, soon after your father died ... F. N. Lowe it was who took over the business, and it was his son who eloped with Ada Rossiter, they went to New Zealand I think, but I have not heard anything of them for years’469
