Edmonston (also known as Edwin) was a New Zealander electrical engineer. His brother (not sure if that's Arthur or Reginald) had been planning to marry Sophie but he was killed in WW1 and Edwin ended up marrying her instead. After Sophie died he returned to New Zealand, remarried and had three more daughters, never returning to Britain. 51
