‘Whitehall, May 15, 1810
The King has been gracioufly pleafed, by warrant under his royal fignet and fign manual, bearing date the 23rd day of February laft, to give and grant unto Branaby John Bartlett, of Wefton Houfe, in the parifh of Branfcombe, in the county of Devon, Efq., his royal licence and authority, that he, and his iffue, may take and ufe the furname of Stuckey in additon to and before that of Bartlett; and alfo bear the arms of Stuckey, quarterly (in the feond quarter) with thofe of Bartlett, out of grateful refpect for the memory of his relation John Stuckey, late of Wefton Houfe aforefaid Efq. defeased; fuch arms, being firft duly examined according to the laws of arms, and recorded in the Herald’s Office, otherwife his Majefty’s faid licence and permiffion to be void of none effect.
And alfo the command, that his Majefty’s faid conceffion and declaration be eneterd at the College of Arms.’
