Carslake Lieut J B - 1868 Wimbledon trophy
188From Len Carslake: “I recently saw a copy of an old London Ilustrated News. The article was about Mr John Barham Carslake, a lieutenant in the 5th Somerset Volunteers, who was the winner of the Queens prize at Wimbledon in 1868 at the age of 22. The article says he was educated at Rugby and Oxford, the son of Mr JHB Carslake of Carslake & Barham, Solicitors, Bridgewater.”
