Bpt ‘Mally, d. of John & Ann Bampfield’124. ‘Melley Bampfield’ is a witness at the marr of Henry Marwood & Mary Bampfield 24 June 1765 at Branscombe, signed by Is. Bampfield, Curate.124 Marr ‘Milly Bampfield’; Witnesses: Nathaniel Parratt, Anthony Northcott.124 Bur: ‘Ham, Melly, widow, aged 63. Relict of Henry Ham, d. of John & Ann Bampfield. The unexpected loss of her son, Henry Ham, aforenamed, so affected her, that she immediately took to her bed, and died five days after him. He was seized with his last sickness and died in three days... 11 July [bur] 15 July.’124 Note that her age in the bur entry is apparnetly calculated from the bapt of herelder sister in 1739.
