Many websites identify Eleanor's place of death as Taunton, Essex, Massachussets. Floyer family records indicate otherwise. Sir William Pole's daughter Elizabeth and son William emigrated to the New England States as early as 1637. They settled initially at Taunton, Massachussets, then relocated to Dorchester. Elizabeth died in 1654, aged 65, and William died in 1675, aged 81 (Genealogical Gleanings in England, Vol II, Baltimore, 1969).

However, Eleanor Floyer, nee Pole (or Poole, in the American spelling) never set foot in the United States. She lived for a time at Llanteilo Portholley, Monmouthshire, UK but after her husband's death may have moved to Charmouth, Dorset. At any rate, she is recorded as being buried at Whitchurch Canonicorum, Dorset, April 7, 1676. If she had somehow got to the States between the time of Anthony's death in 1671 and her own death in 1676 , I find it extremely unlikely that the body would have been brought back from the New England Colonies for burial in England.
