[from Scope and Content] In Uplyme. When he was 10 yrs old, he hired himself for a year at 1s a week to Robert Bartlett of Rousdon, yeoman, and served him the year. Then he made an agreement with Henry Akerman of Axmouth, carpenter for four years at 1s a week, the first and second year, 1/6d the third, and 2/- the fourth year. Served him the whole of that time.29
