Martha/Patty was the proprietor/occupier of some of her father-in-law's former Ottery St Mary properties (Salters, Maynes & Carters, but not Hayne), from 1793 till 1817 when her son John succeeded her as occupier, though she remained proprietor. She was occupier of Munday's Stokes until 1799.32 A bapt of Andrew Venner, Oct 1783, has a footnote in the Ottery register “This boy is bound an apprentice to Patty Leigh for Matthew Mundy's estate called Stokes.”15
