404 Birth year, place given as Templeton, & parents’ names, and death year given in two unverified IGI entries. Another gives Stogumber, parents William and Mary.
148 Bur entry describes him as “of Hole, gent.”
124 How does this fit with the information that his great-aunt Mary Bartlett STUCKEY (1680-1763) was “the sole daughter & heiress of William Bartlett of Hole”[1649-?1704]

In Polewhele's History of Devon:
"At Weston there are 4 farm houses. Hole was sometime the inheritance of de la Hole, then came to Holcomb in whose family it continued 7 descents, when the last, Gilbert Holcomb sold it to Ellis Bartlett. Hole was in 1773 still in possession of the Bartletts"
