Will of William Bartlett (abstract from DRO: Dated 10 Dec 1777 Proved Court of D & C 16 Apr 1782) :
To William Brown als Barns, son of Ann Brown of Branscombe, but born in
Otterton, & now at Colyton school under the care of Robert Stokes at my
cost & charges, £200 at 21, & in the meantime the interest thereon at 5
per cent for his maintenance & education; James Clode of Gittisham &
John Hoskins of Beer, Mariner, to be trustees for him until 21.
Residue to my son Ellis B, whom I make exor.
